I've been working on a progresively more complicated pic. This is neither fanart nor related to my stories, it's purely for teaching myself how to do several things.
My pics with backgrounds have mostly been a character standing in front of a background. In the latest I'm trying to blend the background and foreground together.
I'm also teaching myself some texturing techniques.
The title of this journal speaks for itself. I finished and submitted two new pieces today. One was a rehash...actually, a remake, of an earlier one with a full background. The other was brand new from the ground up. What fun!
Well, it's my last day of vacation, but I did another full picture in less than three hours. Yay!
It's more fanart, which is simple and fun and quick. It also allowed me to experiment with backgrounds and lighting again, and I didn't need to model anything.
Tomorrow I'm leaving my family's place and heading back to Florida.
Happy New Year to everyone. I'm posting this from Tennessee! I'm on vacation at my parents' house. It's very nice to see my family again.
Today's deviation took me about two hours. It's much simpler than the complicated poses I often try, and I relied very heavily on source material...OK, I blatantly copied some of it, but credit is given where due. I don't make money on these and I am doing it to try to learn the styles.
